DOCUMENT RECORDING

Judicial The Recording Office of the Mobile County Probate Court is located on the first floor of the Mobile County Government Center Annex building (151 Government Street), which is located next to the Mobile County Government Plaza in Downtown Mobile, Alabama. Recording windows are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Checks on local banks, money orders, cash and credit/debit cards are accepted forms of payment. If you choose to pay by credit/debit card, you will be charged a 4% fee ($1.00 minimum), which is not refundable, to cover these charges (Pursuant to Alabama Act #2010-268). Alabama law does not allow the Probate Court to accept electronically transmitted documents for recording or filing. Documents presented for recording will be returned within one week of being placed on record. By going to "Records Search" at this site, documents recorded since November 1995, may be viewed immediately upon their being entered into the Probate Court's record. Real Property records through 1995 are available via the Records Search, and partial real property records from 1993 and 1994 are available online as well.
